Adjetivos gentilicios en inglés Lección #19

Los adjetivos gentilicios refieren la nacionalidad. En inglés, tanto los nombres de países como la nacionalidad (France, French) se escriben con mayúsculas. Sus formas principales son:

1. El nombre del país: Germany (Alemania)

2. Su adjetivo, el idioma: English (Inglés)

3. La nacionalidad: Argentinian (Argentino)

4. El nombre colectivo: the Chileans (Chilenos)

Generalmente, la palabra para definir la nacionalidad es la misma que el adjetivo gentilicio y el nombre colectivo se corresponde con el plural.

1) - Nombre derivado del adjetivo

En algunos casos, el nombre colectivo pierde la s final:

Cuando la nacionalidad termina en sh o en ch, se obtiene

el sustantivo agregando man o woman.
